نرخ جمع‌شدگی(انقباض) پلیمر چیست؟

نرخ جمع‌شدگی پلاستیک، میزان کاهش حجم پلیمرها از حالت مذاب تا حالت سرد شده است که ابعاد و دقت قطعات قالب‌گیری شده را تعیین می‌کند و به صورت درصد بیان می‌شود.
پلیمرهای نیمه‌بلورین (مانند PBT یا PP) معمولاً نرخ جمع‌شدگی بالاتری نسبت به پلیمرهای بی‌شکل (مانند PS یا PC) دارند، زیرا هنگام سرد شدن، بخشی از زنجیره‌های ماکرومولکولی پلیمرهای نیمه‌بلورین مجدداً مرتب می‌شوند تا ساختاری بلورین و منظم‌تر به نام کریستالیت تشکیل دهند. این ساختار منظم باعث می‌شود که برای همان تعداد اتم، فضای کمتری نیاز باشد.
این کاهش حجم اغلب منجر به تغییر شکل قطعات و اختلاف ابعاد بین قطعات تولیدشده و قالب (یا دای، اگر فرآیند، اکستروژن باشد) می‌شود.
نرخ جمع‌شدگی پلاستیک نه‌تنها به نوع پلیمر بستگی دارد، بلکه به شرایط فرآیند و طراحی قطعه نیز وابسته است.
یک روش استاندارد برای اندازه‌گیری «جمع‌شدگی قالب‌گیری پلاستیک» – یعنی انقباض نسبت به ابزار قالب‌گیری تزریقی – استاندارد ASTM D955 است.
سایر روش‌های استاندارد بین‌المللی مرتبط با جمع‌شدگی پلاستیک عبارتند از:
ISO 294-4 (برای ترموپلاستیک‌ها) و ISO 2577 (برای ترموست‌ها).
